Charoen Pokphand Group (CP Group), True Corporation and True Internet Data Center (True IDC) last week announced a landmark partnership with Microsoft to accelerate Thailand’s digital transformation through bringing together the collective strengths of CP Group’s diverse businesses, True’s nationwide digital platforms, and True IDC’s data centers.
Central to this partnership is the integration of Microsoft’s Cloud and True IDC’s data center capabilities, enabling advanced AI solutions, low-latency and high-reliability services, while supporting data residency requirements. This, together with Microsoft’s global technology leadership, would help drive sustainable growth, enhance competitiveness, create long-term value, and position the country as a regional hub for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud innovation, according to Microsoft’s website.
“This collaboration reflects CP Group’s vision to build a ‘learning and innovation ecosystem’ powered by AI and Cloud technologies, positioning Thailand for success in the digital age. Digital transformation can only be achieved when the private sector, government, academia, and people work together toward the same goal,” Suphachai Chearavanont, CEO of Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd., said.
“True IDC’s role in supporting Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure further underscores Thailand’s growing capacity as a regional hub for digital infrastructure. Beyond advancing AI and Cloud technologies, this collaboration opens new opportunities for Thai businesses and communities to benefit from innovations that truly shape the future,” he added.
Sigve Brekke, Executive Chair of Telecommunications and Digital Business Group of Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd., and Group CEO of True Corporation Plc., said, “The partnership between CP Group, True, True IDC and Microsoft represents a powerful alliance to propel Thailand into the AI and Cloud era. Our collaboration focuses on three key areas: driving Cloud & AI Transformation; co-developing Joint Go-to-Market strategies to expand AI and Cloud adoption across public and private sectors; and strengthening Digital Infrastructure through True IDC’s data centers, which support Microsoft’s cloud datacenter in Thailand.”
“At Microsoft, we believe AI and Cloud are powerful technologies that unlock immense potential to transform economies and societies. Our partnership with CP Group and True – whose diverse ecosystem spans retail, agriculture, food, telecommunications and its extensive digital reach, creates a powerful synergy that will enhance Thailand’s competitiveness and drive a secure, inclusive, and sustainable digital future,” said Mayank Wadhwa, President of Microsoft ASEAN.
Microsoft and Global Infrastructure Partners have earlier this year revealed plans to invest almost US$ 4 billion into the country.
