Converge Welcomes SEA-H2X Cable System to Enhance Philippine Connectivity

Converge ICT Solutions Inc., has announced that the Philippine branch of the South-East Asia Hainan-Hong Kong Express Cable System (SEA-H2X) has landed in Bauang, La Union. This significant development marks a step forward in strengthening the Philippines’ digital infrastructure and connectivity within the region.

The SEA-H2X is a fiber-optic submarine cable system designed to meet the growing demand for high-speed internet and data transmission in Southeast Asia. With a system design capacity of 160 terabits per second, it will connect Hong Kong SAR, China, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

Converge’s participation in the SEA-H2X consortium aligns with its commitment to expanding its international connectivity and supporting the development of the Philippines as a digital hub. This investment is expected to benefit businesses, institutions, and individuals across the country by providing faster and more reliable internet access.

In addition to the SEA-H2X, Converge has been actively investing in international cable networks to meet the growing need for data centers in Asia and other regions. The company has been exploring opportunities to sign new contracts for undersea cable infrastructure to further increase its data capacity.

Converge believes that international cable links are essential for the Philippines to develop as a data center hub and attract investments from global tech giants.
