CDC announces new data centre campus at Laverton, Melbourne

CDC’s Founder and CEO Greg Boorer has announced that the ground has been broken on CDC’s new 150 megawatt data centre campus in Laverton, Melbourne.

The announcement was made as CDC’s Founder and CEO Greg Boorer was joined by local, state, and federal government representatives, including Tim Watts MP, Federal Member for Gellibrand; Sarah Connolly MP, Member for Laverton; and Councillor Mia Shaw, Mayor of Wyndham City Council. Customers and construction partners were also present to mark the occasion and observe the turning of the first sod.is poised. The project will create thousands of local jobs and inject $2.7 billion into the local economy during construction.

Greg Boorer expressed his enthusiasm for the project saying, “I am delighted to expand our presence in Melbourne and offer more customers access to our secure, reliable, sustainable and connected data centre solutions”.

“I am proud that CDC can play our role in generating thousands of local jobs and investing billions of dollars into Victorian economy”.

Together with the Brooklyn Campus, the new expansion will boost CDC’s total capacity in the state. When complete, CDC will reach over 780 MW of capacity in Victoria, enabling the company to continue to support the critical infrastructure, government, research, education, and technology sectors.
