Cambodia Welcomes ByteDC’s Tier III Data Center Facility

ByteDC Solutions marked the official opening of its data center in Cambodia, which was established as a result of a collaborative investment between Cambodia and Singapore.

ByteDC’s data center is also the first Tier III Certified facility in Cambodia.

The impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on various industries has sped up the adoption of e-commerce and remote work.

The announcement in Cambodia is a reflection of continued growth for data centers in South East Asia.

Kuala Lumpur stood out as the main catalyst for growth in the region, with the supply expansion in Q1 2023 accounting for a significant one-third of the total supply added last year. Cloud service providers like Amazon Web Services have focused their investments in Kuala Lumpur, with plans to develop there in the current quarter.

Vantage Data Centers announced a second data center campus (KUL2) with an additional US$3 billion (RM13.32b) investment while Acronis opened its first cyber cloud data center in Kuala Lumpur this month.

In the Philippines, ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (Philippines) (STT GDC Philippines), a joint venture (JV) between Globe, Ayala Corporation and Singapore-based ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC), recently announced the development of its largest and sustainable carrier-neutral data center.
