Bridge Data Centres (BDC) and BCA International (BCAI) will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) tomorrow in Singapore to mark their joint collaboration in advancing sustainable practices globally, BDC said in a statement today. The partnership will leverage on BDC’s leadership in sustainability which was recently recognized with a BCA’s Green Mark Platinum Award, the highest rating achievable under the framework set out by Singapore’s Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
The partnership with BCAI, a subsidiary of BCA, will focus on promoting sustainability and innovative construction methods, through knowledge exchange and collaboration with Singapore’s built environment firms, among other activities.
BDC was awarded the Provisional BCA Green Mark Platinum Award for its MY06 Campus (Building 1) in Johor, Malaysia, one of the first data centres in the region to assemble large building sections off-site enabling completion of the facility within eight months, 40 per cent faster than traditional methods. This meets the growing needs of large-scale cloud and technology customers in the region, by enabling faster deployment. In Johor, BDC has also built Southeast Asia’s first large-scale water reclamation plant and pipe network to cool its upcoming 400MW campus in Ulu Tiram.
Eric Fan, CEO of BDC said: “Our partnership with BCA International underscores a shared commitment to sustainable, future-ready data infrastructure as we address the region’s growing demand for hyperscale capacity. We look forward to working with Singapore’s built environment firms to advance green data centre practices and to build partnerships that support our ongoing commitment to achieving 100% renewable energy usage.”
“Through knowledge exchange and collaboration with Singapore’s built environment firms, we are pleased to help BDC advance towards their net zero goals whilst sharing best practices globally,” said Heng Teck Thai, Executive Director of BCA International and Deputy CEO of Building and Construction Authority.
