Blackstone reported to be on the verge of acquiring AirTrunk

Reports from Bloomberg indicate that Blackstone is close to finalising the acquisition of the Australian data centre operator AirTrunk. The acquisition has been made for more than US$13.5 billion including debt  according to sources familiar with the transaction.

Blackstone has emerged through the course of the process as the preferred buyer for AirTrunk after outbidding other interested parties.  Blackstone and the owners of AirTrunk – Macquarie Group and PSP Investments – are still negotiating the final details of the deal. This means that terms and details can possibly still change.

None of the companies involved – Blackstone, Macquarie or PSP – have yet made any comment on this transaction.
