Amazon Web Services has announced the availability of AWS IoT SiteWise in Singapore and Sydney, extending the footprint of their solution to six AWS regions.
With the rise of cloud computing and the Internet of Things in the manufacturing, food processing and energy spheres, AWS IoT SiteWise is a managed service that collects, stores, organises and monitors data from industrial equipment at scale.
Getting performance metrics from industrial equipment can be a challenge when data is locked into proprietary on-premises data stores, typically requiring specialised expertise to retrieve and place in a format that is useful for analysis.
AWS IoT SiteWise runs on a gateway residing in facilities, enabling businesses to monitor operations across facilities, quickly compute common industrial performance metrics, and create applications that analyse industrial equipment data.
Data can be collected consistently across devices to identify issues with remote monitoring and improve multi-site processes with centralised data on AWS Cloud.
AWS IoT SiteWise is currently used by brands including Volkswagen Group, Bayer Crop Science, Genie and Pentair.
