Rianne Van Veldhuizen, Managing Director for Australia-New Zealand at Amazon Web Services has announced two generative AI accelerators that Aussie and New Zealand startups can apply for.
Her LinkedIn post describes the first as a global accelerator, part of a new US$230 million commitment to generative AI startups, and is aimed at helping 80 global founders turbocharge their growth. Startups will get dedicated and personalised guidance from top AI/ML industry leaders, and the opportunity to receive up to US$1 million in AWS credits to take advantage of AWS’s technologies. Last year, Leonardo.Ai was accepted into the inaugural cohort and they’ve really kicked some big goals since then.

She also referenced the ecent announcement of the launch of the hashtag#AWS Generative AI Spotlight program in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). The four-week accelerator program, which will have 25 spots for Australia and New Zealand, will help founders accelerate their understanding of and fluency with generative AI tools and services from AWS, as well as peer support from a community of experts and innovators from across the region. The participants will also have access to AWS Activate and receive up to US$100,000 in AWS Credits. We’re so pleased to also partner with Stone & Chalk and Build Club to deliver this program. Her post ends with a review of AWS’ track record in this area of activity:- for 18 years, AWS has helped more startups build, launch, and scale than any other cloud provider. It’s no coincidence that 96% of all AI/ML unicorns run on AWS. We’re incredibly committed to help the next generation of hashtag#startups turbocharge development of new hashtag#generativeAI applications and bring hashtag#innovation to market faster. I’m really excited about the potential of seeing the next Leonardo.Ai come from Australia or New Zealand!
