[Online] Tues, 20th July 2021, 2:00pm – 3:00pm (GMT +10)
The Australian and New Zealand Data Center industries are riding the wave of investment that has been sweeping through the APAC region, with current estimations anticipating a 4.5% CAGR over the next 5 years (Globe Newswire).
Business prospects look bright, but this past year has proven to be an interesting inflection point in cloud & datacenter development. There is new uptake of cloud technologies amongst SMEs and even government affiliates, with the majority of these organisations transitioning to colocation facilities to meet their data optimisation needs.
There is also a renewed sense of urgency surrounding the connectivity and infrastructure delivered to more remote and rural areas of these two countries. Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland remain the data center hubs for the Australasian markets, but the geographic considerations and demand for low-latency solutions has broadened the market geographically and technologically–with new data centers and edge networks expanding rapidly through the region. For instance, areas like Perth or Canberra are seeing increased investment due to low costs and high space availability (PR Newswire).
