Modular AI infrastructure developer Armada has launched Orion, a 10 MW prefabricated data center designed to be deployed within existing structures. This week, Fossefall also selected the company to be one of its technology partners.
According to a press release, as a technology partner, Armada will assist Fossefall with its plans to build 1 GW of Nordic-owned AI capacity by 2030. In pursuit of that goal, Armada is supplying Fossefall with five Leviathan Galleons, each supporting a maximum of 1.77 MW of IT load.

The Orion modular data center is designed to be able to scale to hundreds of megawatts across distributed sites. Every unit packages compute, networking, power, and cooling into a prefabricated six-module core. The Orion supports 2,880 GPUs across 40 racks and is compatible with NVIDIA Blackwell and supports a Vera Rubin-ready architecture. The units are also able to achieve N+1 redundancy.
Orion joins Armada’s Galleon platform alongside the Beacon, Cruiser, Triton and Leviathan products which range from the size of a suitcase to 40 feet. Galleon units are designed to offer exemplary performance and portability. All Galleon products can be interconnected using Armada Bridge, the company’s AI platform for distributed infrastructure. With Armada Bridge, customers can run fully sovereign AI environments with support for multi-GPU orchestration across racks and across sites, with no dependency on the public cloud.
The modular data center market is currently estimated to be worth US$ 34 billion according to Grand View Research. The market is growing at a CAGR of 17.4 percent through 2030 and is expected to reach a value of US$ 75.77 billion by then. This growth is being fueled by a number of factors including growing demand for compute capacity closer to the edge, and the pursuit of sovereign AI capabilities.
