Amazon Web Services Invest Rs 36K Crore In Hyderabad For Setting Up Data Centers

Amazon Web Services to invest ₹36,300 Cr (increased from previously announced ₹20,096 Cr) to set up AWS state-of-the-art data centers in Hyderabad.

According to K.T Rama Rao (KTR) ,Minister for IT, Industries,

“we welcome an AWS commitment to invest approximately 36,300 crores of Indian rupees in the AWS region in Hyderabad which strengthens Telangana’s position as a progressive data center hub in India. we recognize the power of cloud computing which is why we have collaborated with AWS to improve governance healthcare and municipal operations to benefit the citizens of Telangana.”

Hyderabad has been a preferred destination for Amazon in India, in addition to the Data Center investments. AWS’s largest campus in the world and Amazon’s first and one of its largest fulfillment centers are based in Hyderabad. The Government is also actively working with AWS’s cloud practice and has hosted some of its projects on AWS to harness the advantages provided by cloud computing.

Telangana government’s approach the focus is on smart governance with increased accountability transparency and innovation in government service delivery as we make Telangana a hub for data centers we’re also working on the infrastructure of the state we’re excited to have an AWS state-of-the-art data centers and we will continue to offer full support them as they ramp up their operations, said K. T. Rama Rao.

AWS’s second region launch will also help the developers startups entrepreneurs and enterprises as well as government education and nonprofit organizations to have greater choices for running their applications and serving end users from data centers located in India. This has opened more access to advanced AWS technologies to drive innovation including data analytics security machine learning and AI.“We are adopting AWS and some of our governance and citizen facing services our departments can save an enormous amount of time and procurement of services which earlier used to take months to complete and receive hardware infrastructure followed by deployment of applications,” said K.T Rama Rao.

By using AWS technologies our departments will be able to go live with their applications and start serving citizens seamlessly this is also in line with the honorable chief Minister of Telangana K.C. Rao vision for this state Telangana government not only proposes to use cloud IT infrastructure to host legacy applications but also encourages to innovate using a range of advanced cloud services we have undertaken special initiatives to build capacity and other government departments on effectively utilizing cloud services. “We want to achieve migration within a defined timeline and I welcome you AWS partner with the state to help build capacity and share their global experiences with other governments. I’m very optimistic about the potential of cloud services in helping departments accomplish their core missions without worrying about underlying IT infrastructure. I’m very confident that the state of Telangana will lead this journey to help others benefit from our experience,” said K.T Rama Rao.
