AirTrunk announces second data centre in Hong Kong

AirTrunk announced  today [June 27] their expansion in Hong Kong with AirTrunk HKG2 (HKG2), strategically located in a new, major cloud availability zone in East New Territories.

The 15+MW data centre will be the company’s second in Hong Kong and tenth in the Asia Pacific & Japan region, bringing the total AirTrunk platform capacity to almost 1.38GW.

AirTrunk Deputy CEO, Michael Juniper, said: “As a key international business hub, Hong Kong has ambitions to accelerate the development of a digital economy. Combined with the rapid rise of artificial intelligence (AI), there is huge demand for cloud services and the supporting critical digital infrastructure. HKG2 will play an important role in responding to this demand.”
