Akamai Technologies, the cloud company opened the doors on a new cloud computing site in Chennai, India to meet the needs of modern applications requiring high performance, lower latency, and global scalability. This is the company’s second cloud computing site in India after one in Mumbai.

Details about investment, and capacity, are not yet disclosed about this data center in Chennai. Akamai’s new site in Chennai will give the company greater access to one of the largest IT hubs in India. An April 2023 survey of its partners found that 48% of respondents in India estimated that between 21-40% of IT budgets would be spent on a cloud.

Along with the one in Chennai, the company is also launching similar sites in Paris, Washington DC, Chicago, and Seattle.
