Event Summary
With the global rise in demand for Cloud services, data centers have been proliferating in Southeast Asia. Given the recent acceleration of cloud migration due to COVID, Hyper-scalers are on the lookout for new locations and markets to meet the rising demand.
Right in the center of this battleground is Indonesia, home to the world’s 4th largest internet population1. Over a billion US dollars’ worth of datacenter investments have gone into Indonesia1 in just this year, and datacenters in Jakarta alone are set to witness a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.8% in the years 2019-2024, the highest for any city in Southeast Asia (Cushman & Wakefield Datacenter Report 2019).
With this rapid infrastructure development and huge population to draw on, the potential for digitalisation in this market is nearly limitless. But this potential brings with it the challenge of harnessing and securing the data created, to ensure that Indonesia can continue to compete with matured neighboring markets.
Why is Indonesia a hotspot for Data Center Investments? What are the constraints faced by investors, and what are the technologies available to help?
This session, “A closer look at the Indonesian Data Center market” will aim to answer such questions. Over the course of one hour, we will take a deeper look into what makes Indonesia a lucrative destination for datacenters and how we can better position ourselves to drive sustainable growth and innovation in this exciting market.
