Singapore-based computing infrastructure firm BTC Digital Ltd. recently announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Nam Trang Cat Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (NTC) and SG Partners Co., Limited (SGP) to explore building an artificial intelligence data center (AIDC) project in Hai Phong, Vietnam.

The proposed site has been identified as being within the 2 million square meters Nam Trang Cat Industrial Park in Hai Phong. The parties plan to undertake feasibility studies on site suitability, power-access verification, network and cooling design, permitting, customer-demand validation, and financing and investment planning. The site has a planned power load of about 300MW, as per NTC.

Under the MOU, NTC will take care of local project coordination and assist with verification of relevant site, power and infrastructure conditions, while BTC Digital will contribute its digital computing infrastructure experience and international business resources, to project evaluation and technical preparation. SGP is expected to engage with potential investors and industry participants.

The two-year MOU includes an initial six-month exclusivity period and is subject to a definitive agreement being signed, according to BTC Digital’s press release.

Siguang Peng, Chief Executive Officer of BTC Digital Ltd. said: “This MOU gives the parties a practical framework for the next stage of work: verifying the site and power profile, completing the technical design, mapping permitting requirements and evaluating the project’s capital structure. We intend to advance the Hai Phong opportunity in stages and make investment or construction decisions only after the key conditions have been validated.”
