MEEZA, a Qatar-based provider of data center and managed IT services, has signed an agreement with a global hyperscaler for a deal valued at more than QAR 1 billion (US$ 275 million). As per the agreement, MEEZA will provide operational capacity of 8 MW of data center services under a long-term leasing agreement.
While the hyperscaler was not named, a company press release said that it was one of the world’s fastest-growing Cloud service providers. The new data center campus will support the hyperscaler’s growing Cloud and AI workloads.
“This landmark agreement, the largest in MEEZA’s history, is a powerful testament to the growing demand for our Data Centre infrastructure and the confidence that global technology leaders place in MEEZA,” said Mohammed Ali Al-Ghaithani, Chief Executive Officer of MEEZA. “As outlined in our previous released statements, we are on track to quadruple our current Data Centre capacity. This expansion will support Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Qatar Digital Agenda 2030, while enabling us to meet the rapidly growing demand for cloud and AI infrastructure.”
The deal reflects the growing demand for data center capacity driven by the rapid expansion of Cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and data-intensive technologies, and is also in line with Qatar’s ambitions to establish itself as a leading regional hub for digital infrastructure and attract global technology investments.
According to Arizton Intelligence, Qatar’s data center market size was valued at US$ 203 million in 2025, and is expected to reach US$ 702 million by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 22.97 percent during the forecast period.
