HyperVault AI Data Center Limited, an AI-ready data center infrastructure developer and subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services, has secured 264 acres in Hyderabad, Telangana, where it intends to develop an AI data center campus with a capacity of up to 1 GW.
With the land in hand, HyperVault will move forward with developing the campus to serve the needs of AI businesses and hyperscalers through high-density GPU deployments for AI training, inference, and advanced computing workloads. According to a press release, the facility is expected to rank among the largest and most advanced AI campuses in India when complete.
“We are building infrastructure for where AI is going: higher density, liquid cooling, larger power blocks and faster deployment. Hyderabad gives us the foundation to build that at scale for frontier AI companies and hyperscalers. We thank the Government of Telangana for extending its support to the development of the infrastructure that will power intelligence,” said Deepesh Kiran Nanda, HyperVault Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director.
“This establishes that Hyderabad is now at the forefront of the global AI revolution with a strong focus on infrastructure. This decade is one of Artificial Intelligence. Access to AI models and compute is fast-becoming public infrastructure and having this compute reside in Telangana gives us an advantage,” said A. Revanth Reddy, Chief Minister of Telangana.
The campus will make use of green energy and water-neutral design principles. The project will also create thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the region. HyperVault and its partners are expected to invest ₹ 700 billion (US$ 7.4 billion) in the project.
Minister of IT & Industries D. Sridhar Babu said in a statement that the project was born during a conversation between Reddy and Chairman of Tata Sons, N. Chandrasekaran, at Davos in January this year.
“We tell the investors and corporations across the world, Telangana Means Business. We move at the speed and with clarity of process that matches the expectations of the tech and corporate world,” said Babu.
India’s data center market was worth US$ 9.79 billion by 2025 and is expected to grow to a value of US$ 21.03 billion by 2031 according to Arizton Advisory & Intelligence. Hyderabad in Telangana has become a key destination for AI-ready, high-density infrastructure as digitalization and access to digital services improve across the region.
