Malaysian semiconductor specialist Key ASIC Berhad and Hong Kong investment and green technology group CT Vision (International) Holdings Limited, have jointly announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a strategic partnership to develop a 300MW green AI Data Centre (AIDC) in Malaysia. The collaboration includes the construction, ownership and operation of dedicated renewable energy generation facilities to power the AIDC fully, according to the firms’ press release last week.
Upon signing of the MOU, both parties will advance feasibility studies, site planning, detailed engineering and commercial structuring, with definitive agreements targeted for execution by the end of Q4 2026.
The planned total IT load of about 300 MW is targetted within five years from commercial launch. The AIDC is targetted for 100 per cent renewable energy penetration with over half coming from onsite generation giving a targetted PUE of less than 1.20 across a full stack ecosystem.
Key ASIC will contribute expertise in energy-efficient semiconductor/ASIC design, power management and server infrastructure optimization tailored for AI workloads, as well as local execution capabilities. Meanwhile, CT Vision (International) will contribute international resources and technical capabilities in renewable energy and data center efficiency using their proprietary technologies.
