Alibaba Cloud, the AI infrastructure and intelligence backbone of Alibaba Group, has announced the launch of its first cloud region in Brazil, giving South American enterprises, startups, developers, and public institutions direct access to a full portfolio of cloud services running on local infrastructure.
The region will offer a comprehensive suite of cloud computing products including compute, storage, containers, networking, security, and databases, big data, and cloud-native services. Alibaba Cloud also said in a press release that it plans to introduce a suite of agentic AI services in Brazil to streamline the development and operation of enterprise-scale AI agents within a secure environment.
“Brazil is one of the world’s most dynamic digital economies and a new market central to Alibaba Cloud’s expansion in Latin America,” said Allen Guo, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence General Manager of the Latin America Region and Vice President of International Business. “With secure, resilient local infrastructure, our AI+Cloud portfolio, and a growing partner ecosystem, we are supporting Brazilian enterprises as they build their cloud and AI capabilities and connecting them to Asia and the rest of our global network.”
The company is working with local partners to build out its ecosystem in Brazil with a view to serving clients in key sectors including fintech, as well as AI-native companies, and independent software vendors. To that end, Alibaba Cloud has partnered with Insi, a technology solutions provider, to support the cloud transformation of enterprises in the country.

Alibaba Cloud is also working with 4LInux, an open-source software and enterprise IT specialist, to bring generative AI to Brazilian businesses.

With the Brazil cloud region online, Alibaba Cloud now operates 106 availability zones across 31 regions. As w.media reported earlier this month, the company launched its third data center in South Korea following launches in France, Malaysia, and Mexico earlier this year.
