Global asset manager and operator, Keppel Ltd. (Keppel) will begin construction of Keppel DC SGP 9 in mid-2026, the latest of three buildings in its AI-ready hyperscale data centre campus at Genting Lane, Singapore, according to the firm’s voluntary business update for 1Q 2026 released yesterday.

In addition to Keppel, two data center private funds, namely Keppel Data Centre Funds II and III, will take part in the buildout of KDC SGP 9, according to an earlier statement.

KDC SGP 9 may be considered as a potential asset for acquisition by Keppel DC REIT after the asset is stabilized, Keppel and Keppel DC REIT Management Pte Ltd (manager of Keppel DC REIT) had said.

In late 2025, the firms had announced that they were granted a 10-year lease extension until 15 July 2050 for the Keppel Data Centre Campus at Genting Lane in Singapore. The extension will benefit the development of KDC SGP 9, the companies added.

Keppel also announced it has commenced construction of its Floating Data Centre project. The project has been in the planning stage for some time.

The firm is also currently in advanced discussions with potential customers for Keppel’s remaining two fibre pairs in the Bifrost Cable System, with contracts targeted to be signed in 1H 2026.
