Malaysia-based Global Data Centre Sdn. Bhd. (GDC) has broken ground yesterday at its 21-MW AI data center, in Sedenak Tech Park, Johor, according to reliable sources. The GDC-SDK1, is sited on 3.166 acres of land and has a rack density of 125 KW/ rack. Upon completion, the data center can accommodate up to 1,000 racks and a PUE of 1.25, according to its website. Power is expected to be ready by Q2 2026, it added.
The website further said its AI data centers are capable of hosting 10,000 GPU-chip clusters, including 4090, 5090, H100, and H200, and is ready for next-generation, higher-performance chips.

Dato’ Stanley Ling, the Founder and Managing Director of Global Telecom Group is also the Co-Founder and substantial shareholder of Sarawak-based Telco company, IRIX Sdn. Bhd. (aka PP Telecommunication Sdn. Bhd.) which started out in 2008. Ling is instrumental in the success of Batam-Sarawak Internet Cable System (BaSICS), spanning 700 km, consisting of 6 fibre pairs, with transmission capacity of 80 x 100 Gbps each, totalling 48 Tbps system capacity, according to Global Telecom website. The company has also established the first Tier 4 data centre in Sarawak, in Santubong.
