EPI, a Singapore-based data center audit, certification, and professional training organisation, has officially joined the TÜV NORD GROUP following the successful completion of the acquisition on 24 October, an EPI statement says today. TÜV NORD GROUP is a 150-year-old global one-stop platform for digital solutions across the data center ecosystem.
EPI will continue to operate independently under the EPI brand and it is business as usual for EPI customers, partners, and students, the statement said, noting that with TÜV NORD’s capabilities, the firm now will offer expanded services including TÜV NORD’s TSI (Trusted Site Infrastructure), ISO- and sustainability standards, as well as deeper technical resources to address emerging challenges around artificial intelligence (AI), high-density workloads, and evolving regulatory compliance.
“With the acquisition of EPI, TÜV NORD is set to be a global leader in certification and training services for data centers,” said Wolfgang Wielpütz, CEO of the Certification Business Unit, TÜV NORD GROUP. “We expect continued strong growth in the data center market, driven by digitalisation and platform solutions, technologies such as AI, cloud computing and 5G/IoT. Our customers expect comprehensive solutions and local support from a ‘one-stop shop’.”
Edward van Leent, CEO of the EPI Group, said: “By joining TÜV NORD, EPI gains the strength and resources to continue its global expansion while maintaining our commitment to quality, independence, and innovation. Our shared values of the highest technical integrity, market-leading performance standards and a strong customer focus make this a synergetic partnership.”
“The acquisition of EPI is a strategically important step in implementing our global strategy of internationalisation, with a particular focus on the Asia-Pacific region. With this acquisition, we are strengthening our international presence and making targeted investments in the global growth market for data centers – a market that is opening up new dimensions, particularly with gigawatt-class AI data centers,” Dirk Stenkamp, CEO of TÜV NORD AG, said.
